Joie

The pandemic was the catalyst for Joie to pursue her lifelong passion of working with animals. Leaving behind a successful career as an electrical engineer that allowed her to travel the world, Joie decided to make a bold move and transition to veterinary science. She graduated with honours from CDI College in BC to become a certified Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Assistant. After gaining experience in that field, Joie is now a PhD student of Veterinary Medicine Engineering at U of Guelph. She is also thrilled to be mentored by the renowned Temple Grandin, a Distinguished Professor at the Department of Animal Science at Colorado State University. In her personal time, Joie is dedicated to a healthy mind, body, and spirit and giving back to the community. Her commitment to these passions has earned her the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal and Award in 2022.
